“Happiness… we long for it; we work for it. But, every time
we think we have it, it’s gone-like a soap bubble in a child’s eager grasp.”
This is quote is from a little “Thank You” note that a customer left for me
after I made her lunch. I was having one of those, “Life is never going to work
in my favor!” kind of days, so it really helped. The fact is: life is never
going to work completely in our favor because we always expect too much; from
everything and everyone; ourselves included. I am not exactly sure that we
really set ourselves up for failure, but pretty close. We go to our jobs and we
try our best with the idea that maybe eventually we will come out on top, but
that is not always the case. We make friends and expect the kind of friendships
we see in movies. We may like a person of the opposite sex and try to make that
work, but that doesn’t always work out. Most of all, we expect love; a great
love. Especially the kind of love we see in movies. However, movies are fake
and the cold hard truth is that some people never do find love. Or, they do
find it, lose it, and never get it back again. The point is, life is full of
expectations; in ourselves and from others and when those expectations cannot
be “lived up to”, disappointment comes into play and it distorts simplicity. If
something or someone makes you happy, that something or someone should be
pursued. Vis versa, if something or someone makes you unhappy, that someone or
something should come to an end.
^^ That was all my thoughts from yesterday that I couldn't post because Frontier Internet decided it was going to be a big ole sack of crap. I wanted to blog more today about how I went to Six Flags a couple days ago and how awesome it was. Be jealous. We rode almost every roller coaster/ride that was there and Mr.Freeze was by far THE BEST ride; Total adrenaline rush. It may be happening again this weekend. Yep, I am going to become a Six Flags junkie, haha. Last night I stayed up practically all.night.long playing Super Nintendo like a boss. I'm a wee bit tired, but I work tonight AND I am going to have a Mexican lunch date with a few special ladies. One being Katie who is going to be leaving us all to go live with her husband. Who does that? Why would any woman want to live with their husband? Haha. We're going to miss you, Katie!
On that note. I need to go fix my poodle hair, so I can go on my hot date. More awesome and interesting blogs to come.
